The 2012 season schedule will put the starting rotation and the offense to the test. Kennedy needs Daniel Hudson to put together another valiant effort, for Trevor Cahill to put together a repeat of his 2010 performance, and for Joe Saunders and Josh Collmentor to simply hold down the fort at the back end of the rotation. By all accounts, the Arizona Diamondbacks fans are well within their right minds to come to Chase Field with such expectations.
The bigger question is the offense. Upton has some help out there in the batting box. Third baseman Ryan Roberts, second baseman Aaron Hill, catcher Miguel Montero and center fielder Chris Young have the potential to go yard 20 times or more. This batting order is going to rely on these hitters to flex their power muscles as few hitters on the roster appear capable of hitting better than .275. The lone addition to the order is Jason Kubel. Kubel has the potential to hit from the left side and drive over 20 homeruns. He is much like the other hitters, destined to post unimpressive numbers.
The Arizona Diamondbacks 2012 season is going to be a true test of whether last season was simply a fluke or the beginnings of a NL West dynasty. TheSeats hass the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball tickets to Chase Field for fans to find out live.
Arizona Diamondbacks History
The Arizona Diamondbacks began playing in 1998. The early AZ Diamondback teams quickly went from the struggling new baseball team in the NL West to division champion. Mostly, this was thanks to a willingness to add Randy Johnson and his Cy Young arm to the rotation. That and the power hitting of Jay Bell, Matt Williams, Luis Gonzalez, and Steve Finley helped the sophomore franchise win 100 games. This would not be the season the Diamondbacks won the World Series though.
Arizona won the World Series two seasons later with Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling as the best 1-2 combo in the league. Johnson had just won his third of what would be four straight Cy Young Awards and Schilling came through in the playoffs, pitching with his now famed bloody sock. They won 92 games, won the NL West, and beat the New York Yankees in seven games in the World Series.
The Diamondbacks have won three division titles since that World Series win thanks mostly to an ever-impressive pitching staff. Now they are trying to add the offense to accentuate the greatness on the mound and go from simple NL West division champions to World Series champions. TheSeats has the Diamondbacks tickets for this next season at Chase Park, so find the game on the schedule and the cheap seats to enjoy great baseball in person.
