TheSeats has Oriole tickets to enjoy the potentially dramatically improved baseball team at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Baltimore Orioles Tickets for Sale
Last season the Baltimore Orioles had the worst pitching staff in baseball. They have already gone to great lengths to at least give change a chance. They traded former ace Jeremy Guthrie to the Rockies for Jason Hammel and Matt Lindstrom. Hammel is just one of a few new additions to the rotation. He and has a pair of left-handed starters from Japan to befriend at orientation – Wei-Yin Chen and Tsuyoshi Wada.
Tommy Hunter and Zach Britton appeared last season. Hunter arrived via trade and went 3-3 and posted a 5.06 ERA. Of course, manager Buck Showalter is hoping for something more resembling his seasons as a Texas Ranger. Zach Britton has been hailed as one of the most promising pitching prospects in the MLB and he returns for a second season. Britton enjoyed a very decent rookie season, going 11-11 with a 4.61 ERA. The Baltimore Orioles will be expecting a big step forward in his development as they anxiously await a competitive season.
In addition to the retooling in the starting rotation, there is turnover at closer. Last season Kevin Gregg only saved 22 of 29 games and carried a deplorable 4.37 ERA and 1.64 WHIP. Basically, Gregg is not the answer in the ninth inning. Matt Lindstrom arrives as the likely new closer. Last season he proved valuable for the Rockies. He saved 15 of 18 opportunities and boasted a 3.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Lindstrom may not be an overwhelming strikeout machine, but he appears ready to make the full time jump from middle reliever to closer in a brand new Orioles uniform.
Baltimore Orioles History
The Baltimore Orioles have existed as two franchises, the St. Louis Browns and Baltimore Orioles. Playing since 1901, the team has enjoyed three World Series titles, seven American League pennants, and eight AL East Division titles. The Orioles of the late 1960s through the early 1970s were by far the golden age for the franchise. Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Bogg Powell, and Jim Palmer were the core of a championship baseball team. Cal Ripken Jr. would star for the Orioles in the 1980s and early 1990s. TheSeats has the Baltimore Orioles tickets for the new season at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, so find the best seats for the cheapest prices on the secondary ticket market throughout the season schedule.
