Colorado Rockies Tickets
Colorado Rockies tickets are on sale to see just how far a shortstop who hits like an All Star first baseman and a pitching staff playing half the season schedule’s games in thin air can carry a baseball team. The opposition has to pitch at Coors Field as well, so the 2012 MLB season is far from over. TheSeats has the Colorado Rockies baseball tickets to see if the franchise can take the NL West for the first time.

The Rockies are relying on shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to return with the best numbers at his position. Tulowitzki is a .300 hitter capable of blasting 30 balls out of the park while getting on base around 37.2 percent of the time. Add an older, yet decent hitter named Todd Helton. Helton is no longer the power hitter he had been many years prior, but he is still going to hit .300 with a very impressive OBP. Add to the mix left fielder Carlos Gonzalez, a hitter capable of putting up such All Star numbers as 34 homeruns, a .336 batting average, and stealing more than 25 bases. Centerfielder Dexter Fowler is expected steal far more bases, but he has a penchant for hitting triples and posts an amazing On Base Percentage.
Jhoulys Chacin, Jeremy Guthrie, and Guillermo Moscosco are the big names on the pitching staff. Chacin is just 24 years old and is still learning to control his pitches, so this season could be the first in which he posts a winning record. He has decent WHIP but it could streak if he is able to cut down his league-leading walk total. Guthrie is a veteran who has surpassed 200 innings each of the last three seasons. Moscosco had a great year in Oakland last season and is expected to continue his impressive numbers with superior run support. This is going to be an interesting season as the NL West is once again up for grabs and the Rockies have added enough veteran help at the field positions to make a major play for first or one of the two wild card spots.
Colorado Rockies History
The Colorado Rockies have been playing in the MLB since 1993, when they came into the National League with the Florida Marlins. Those first couple of seasons were spent below .500, but they quickly put together a run of winning seasons. Andres Galarraga, Dante Bichette, and Vinny Castilla became the Blake Street Bombers. They added Larry Walker to the batting order and opened a new ballpark, Coors Field. The Rockies would win the NL Wild Card in the NL West, though they were jettisoned by the Braves in the NLDS.
It would take another decade until they finally put together a solid starting rotation. Jeff Francis, Aaron Cook, Ubaldo Jimenez, and Josh Fogg had an incredible run on the mound and the Colorado Rockies came back from oblivion to take the NL Wild Card in 2007 and swept the Phillies and Diamondbacks on their way to the World Series. The Red Sox ended the Rockies incredible run in four games. They returned to the NL West as a wild card in 2009, but this time they lost in the NLDS. TheSeats has the Colorado Rockies tickets for the new season at Coors Field.
