Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Tickets
Even after their recent 18-9 record in June, the Los Angeles Angels (44-36) have still been outscored by three runs overall this season. Additionally, even though the Angels have had the best record in MLB since the end of May, the frustrated team has not really gained any ground in the standings, remaining 4.5 games behind the AL West-leading Texas Rangers.
Looking at the LA Angels’ roster, things do not seem to be in place to help them move up in the standings, as their infield is plagued by injury, their pitching rotation lacks a true ace and real depth, and both right-fielder Bobby Abreu (.267 BA, 8 HR) and designated-hitter Hideki Matsui (.259 BA, 10 HR) are not providing their typical firepower, which leaves the lineup struggling without any true threats from the left side of the plate.
Heading toward the 2010 MLB All-Star break, the very fact that the Los Angeles Angels have even been able to remain where they are in the standings is remarkable, given the only answers they have been trying utilize to fix the lineup are the likes of utility-man Kevin Frandsen (30 GP, .340 BA, 9 RBI) at first base and Brandon Wood (49 GP, .176 BA, 3 HR) at third, who are both having significant troubles playing the field in addition to Wood’s woes at the plate.
Other than center-fielder Torii Hunter, catcher Mike Napoli, and second-baseman Howard Kendrick, the Angels’ offense has been pretty dismal, with none of team’s regulars even hitting above .300 at this point in the season; Hunter leads the team in batting (.290), runs-batted-in (53), and on-base percentage (.366); Napoli heads the homerun list (14); Kendrik has the most hits (86). With all that being said, LA is still winning games and could take the upcoming break as a chance to regroup and maybe get Abreu and Matsui out of the hitting funk they are in. If that happens, get your tickets now because the Los Angeles Angels will once again be solid contenders during the rest of the season.
Angel Stadium of Anaheim may very well be an interesting place to be the second half of the season and the Halos search for a way to not only keep winning but, more importantly, figure out a way to gain some ground on the Rangers if they do. To have the issues they have had so far and still be where they are today, this seems to be a team playing with an angel on its shoulder, so order Los Angeles Angels tickets today and see just how far it can take them.
