New York Yankees Tickets

The New York Yankees started out as a charter franchise in The Bronx, New York. The team originated in Baltimore and became known as The New York Highlanders in 1903, and eventually the Yankees in 1913. New York Yankees’ tickets are highly desired tickets, but this wasn’t always the case. The Yankees didn’t win a championship in their first 20 years and only finished second twice. But things turned around for the team when the Red Sox sold star pitcher Babe Ruth’s contract to the Yankees in 1920. Babe Ruth was instrumental in the three appearances of the Red Sox in the 1916 to 1918 World Series championships. New York Yankees’ ticket holders were pleased with the trade because this was to be the start of many victories for the Yankees, and a competitive rivalry with the Red Sox. They went on to win twenty six (26) World Series championships. From 1923 to 2008 Yankee Stadium remained the team’s home ballpark. It is currently one of the most famous sports venues. In 2009 the team moved into another venue – a new stadium also known as “Yankee Stadium”. Sales of New York Yankees tickets have increased proving that the franchise maintains a very large number of supporters.

This team has been recognized for having more championships than any other franchise in North American professional sports history, making New York Yankees’ tickets the highest selling baseball tickets on the market. This club has also produced some of the most celebrated players in MLB history, including Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and DiMaggio. New York Yankees ticket holders are very dedicated and devoted to their team.

The fact that the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox are rivals is hardly just a regional nuance limited to the East Coast - it is a well known sports fact that inspires television ratings throughout the country. Aside from the huge revenue earned from the sales of New York Yankees tickets, the club launched the YES television Network in 2002.

The Yankees moved to Yankee Stadium in 1923, after the Highlander stadium burned down. The new stadium was the inaugural triple deck venue in baseball and had a seating capacity of 58,000. Babe Ruth hit a home run in the very first game at the new Yankee Stadium and would hit many, many more, boosting the sales of New York Yankees tickets for years. This event earned the stadium its nick name - “The House That Ruth Built”. The Yankees played the Giants in the first season at the new stadium, making it the third straight year the teams met in the World Series. The Yankees would defeat the Giants to earn their first World Series victory.

In 1927, The Yankees featured a line-up that had so much talent it became known as the “Murderers’ Row”. Most Yankees fans and many historians consider this team to be the best ever in the history of baseball. The team won a then American League (AL) record of 110 games, losing just 44 games. The Yanks went on to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1927 World Series. That season Babe Ruth also set a single-season home run record of 60 that year. Roger Maris, a Yankee himself, would break the record 34 years later.

The Philadelphia Athletics took the AL pennant every season for three years after that championship and managed to win two World Series. New York Yankees ticket holding fans were none too happy. However, Joe McCarthy stepped in as the team’s manager in 1931 and brought the Yankees back to the top of the American League. The Yankees decimated the Chicago Cubs in the 1932 World Series and began its record 12 consecutive World Series game wins.

The New York Yankees won the World Series in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Fans believe that the Yankees will win the World Series again, which keeps them coming back for New York Yankees tickets year after year.
