Seattle Mariners Tickets
Seattle Mariners tickets are on sale for this upcoming 2012 season schedule at Safeco Field. This time they have a few more pieces to brag about in the batting order and a few less to impress in the starting rotation. Basically, GM Jack Zduriencik hopes he tweaked the roster just enough to put together a decent offense and a solid pitcher staff to result in more than 67 wins. TheSeats has the Seattle Mariner tickets for this 2012 MLB baseball season in the Pacific Northwest.
Seattle Mariners Tickets for Sale
The Seattle Mariners' Manager Eric Wedge seems to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. The front office does not have the budget to build a big-name roster, so the manager must make due with a decidedly flawed roster. Most baseball teams in the MLB come to the plate or take the field with a certain number of flaws though.
Wedge worked with a flaws ball club last season. The M’s had an excess of pitchers and a lack of hitters. This season he has a few less pitchers and a few more potential big hitters in the batting order. Seattle’s rotation lone star is Felix Hernandez and its new sources of offenses appear to be DH/C Jesus Montero and 1B Justin Smoak. If Ichiro could reverse his sudden fall from grace and Franklin Gutierrez can hit something like his first season at Safeco Field, then the Mariners have a chance to maybe approach 81 wins.
Seattle Mariners History
The Seattle Mariners first took the field in their Pacific Northwest home in 1977. Adopting its name from the marine culture, this new baseball franchise owes its existence to the contended departure of the Seattle Pilots seven years earlier. A lawsuit forced the MLB to create a new franchise and the city had a professional baseball team once again. Those first few seasons were futile.
Seattle finally built a contender nearly two decades later. Ken Griffey, Jr., Alex Rodriguez, and Randy Johnson were stars of a team that performed just well enough to win the AL West, a weak division at the time. Despite MVP and Cy Young seasons from its stars, it was after those three had left that Seattle put together a run of successful seasons. Ichiro Suzuki came over from Japan and immediately became one of the best hitters in baseball, shooting for the gaps instead of the fences.
Ichiro became the leader of a team that would win 91 or more games from 2000 to 2003. They reached the postseason twice in that time and lost to the Yankees both times in the ALCS. The Mariners were not able to maintain that excellence though, and the franchise has been rebuilding ever since. TheSeats has the Seattle Mariners tickets for the new season schedule at Safeco Field for the cheapest ticket prices on the secondary ticket market.
