The Chicago Cubs are arguably the most loved team in professional baseball. The Cubs have played their exciting home games at the beautiful Wrigley Field. There are two baseball teams in Chicago and the Cubs are from the north side of Chicago and the White Sox are from the south side. There is a strong rivalry between the two Chicago teams.

The Chicago Cubs have not won a world series since 1908. There is suppose to be a curse on the team from fan that wasn’t allowed to bring his goat into the game! The Cubs have had some good years and some bad but haven’t seemed to be able to get over the hump and win the world series for the north side. The closest the Cubs have came to victory was in 2003 when they were up 3-1 over the Marlins. They ended up blowing that lead and losing to the Marlins which stopped them from advancing to the World Series.

There is always next year has been a slogan around the Cubs for years. But 2008 seems to be looking like a year of promise. They are coming back with manager Lou Piniella and resigned some big name players to try to bring Chicago a Championship. Many of the experts around the league have put the Chicago Cubs being in first place in the NL Central by the end of the year! It should be a very interesting year at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field with the exciting Chicago Cubs!
