Los Angeles Clippers Tickets
2008 Outlook
The Los Angeles Clippers once again finished the 2007-08 season near the bottom of the Western Conference and the Pacific Division. The team released Sam Cassell toward the end of the season so he could resign with the Boston Celtics and compete for an NBA Championship. His departure leaves a talented team without a point guard. The impressive front line of power forward Elton Brand, center Chris Kaman, and forward Corey Maggette found another talent in Al Thornton after his breakout rookie season. Unfortunately the team lacks the backcourt to field a competitive team, but a high lottery pick in the 2008 draft will hopefully give them an option in a draft at point guard.
Team History
The Los Angeles Clippers came into the NBA as an expansion team in 1970. The team started in Buffalo as the Braves, but moved to the San Diego and changed their name to the Clippers in 1978. The final move came in 1984, when the team moved to Los Angeles.
Whether the team was in Buffalo, San Diego, or Los Angeles, the franchise has had difficulty creating a fan base and winning basketball games. The team began with a talented roster, playing with undersized-forward Randy Smith, low post threat Bob Kauffman, and Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo. Though McAdoo would play extremely well, including an MVP Award winning season in 1974-75 in which he averaged 34.5 points and 14.1 rebounds per game.

The move to San Diego changed very little for the Clippers. The team had scoring options with Randy Smith and World B. Free, but never seriously competed. The Clippers tried adding established center Bill Walton, but injuries kept him out almost all action with the team.

Another ownership change sparked another move. The Clippers have had the unfortunate luck to collect very talented players but fail to produce winning teams. The rosters have included Ron Harper, Ken Norman, Hersey Hawkins, Lamar Odom, Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, and Andre Miller. The current team has had similar problems, but also had the misfortune of losing extremely talented point guard Shaun Livingston out of high school to a freak knee injury that may sideline him for the rest of his career. The Clippers promise to among the youngest and most talented team again next season, so watch them live with Los Angeles Clipper tickets from TheSeats.com.
