Edmonton Oilers Tickets
The Edmonton Oilers tickets are a Canadian pro ice hockey team based in Edmonton. They are also members of the Western Conference as well as the National Hockey league also called the NHL. The Edmonton Oilers tickets were originally founded on November 1, 1971 and played their first season almost a year later in 1972 as part of the original twelve major professional World Hockey Association. For a while the team was also called the Alberta Oilers when the original team the Calgary Broncos was relocated to the United States in Cleveland, Ohio. However later when the team soon returned the name they use today i.e. Edmonton Oilers tickets was introduced one year later. The team later joined the NHL in 1979 as one of the four franchises which was introduced though a merger between the NHL and the WHA. Today however the Edmonton Oilers are the only team of the WHA based in their original city.
One of the biggest wins if not the biggest win that the Edmonton Oilers tickets picked up after they joined the NHL was to win the Stanley Cup five times during, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990. They are known as being the most dominant NHL teams of the 1980s. The Edmonton Oilers team that played in the 1980s was honored with the “dynasty” status by the National Hockey League hall of fame. This is something that few teams have received over the years.
The Dynasty years of the Edmonton Oilers tickets (1983-84) saw the Edmonton Oilers tickets roll right through their season making a franchise record of 57 wins and 119 points. This is by far the best record in the NHL. They also scored an unmatched NHL record of 446 goals. In their Stanley Cup Finals they also managed to get a rematch with the Islanders. They won 1-0 in their opening game against the Long Island but were pounded 6-1 in the game after that. However on home ground the Edmonton Oilers tickets came out with an explosion beating the foreigners i.e. Islanders 19-6 in the last three games of the series. 100 goals were scored by Gretzky of the Season’s finale. This was an Oiler victory 5-2 on May 19, 1984. Later Mark Messier who was a former left wing switched over to Center late within the season which was inspired by Sather, he later emerged from Gretzky’s wing to become one of the most dominating finals performer that also earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP (most valuable player)
On the 23rd of September 2009 the Edmonton Oilers tickets will be facing their biggest rivals the Calgary Flames. The deciding factor on the ice between these two teams is going to be just how well they can get along with each other with out fighting to score their winning goals.
Later on the 6th of October 2009 they are going to face their other rivals the Dallas Stars. There has been fierce competition between these two teams since 97 so its going to be an incredible game between these two teams.
