St. Louis Blues Tickets
The St. Louis Blues are a professional ice hockey team founded in 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. They are named after the famous W. C. Handy song "St. Louis Blues" and are playing in the 19,150 capacity Scottrade Center arena in downtown St. Louis. The owner of the team is Dave Checketts, Larry Pleau is the general manager, Andy Murray is head coach and Eric Brewer is the captain. The team reached the league semi-finals against the Flames by 1986 and Doug Wickenheiser's overtime goal in game six to cap a furious comeback was one of the greatest moments in team history and is locally known as the "Monday Night Miracle".
Du to their unstable ownership situation, the Blues finished the 2005–06 season with their worst record in 27 years and on March 24, 2006 Wal-Mart heir Nancy Walton Laurie and her husband Bill sold the team to Dave Checketts. The team fired coach Mike Kitchen and replaced him with former Los Angeles Kings coach Andy Murray on December 11, 2006 and on January 4, 2007, they had a record of 6–1–3 in their previous 10 games, which was the best in the NHL during that stretch. The Blues traded Doug Weight to acquire 30 year old Center Andy McDonald on December 14, 2007.
