Washington Capitals Tickets
The Washington Capitals tickets are an American Ice hockey team based founded in 1974 in Washington, D.C. they are members of both the National Hockey League and the Eastern Conference. Their home turf is the Verizon Center located in Washington’s neighborhood of Chinatown.
The Washington Capitals tickets struggled though their initial years as a team but managed to pick up a few wins every now and then. It was during the second half the 19990s that the team realized that they were not doing so well and that it was imperative that the Washington Capitals strictly re-evaluated and re structured the team so that they could get back into the NHL as a winning team.
It was during the summer of the year 2001 when the Washington Capitals tickets managed to get the experienced Jaromir Jagr to the team. Jaromir Jagr was an experienced and five time Art Ross Trophy winner and was considered to be one of the best players of the 1990s. in return the Washington Capitals tickets traded three youngsters to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Washington Capitals tickets signed jagr to the largest contract in NHL history at $77 million over the course of seven years giving him an average salary of $11 million annually, which amounts to $132,000 per game. However unfortunately even though we was paid a lot of money he wasn’t someone that lived up to the expectations of the team as the Washington Capitals tickets lost their division title as well as missed the playoffs in 2002 even though they had a wining record. However, even though they didn’t do so well the attendance of the 2001-2002 marked the largest in the history of the franchise with 710,990 fans with an estimated 17,341 fans per game attending.
During the season of 2007-08 the Washington Capitals tickets unveiled their brand new uniforms which also coincided with the latest NHL Entry Draft. The League’s new uniform was in sync with the new Reebok design. This change some how marked a return to the basic color of red, white and blue a scheme which was originally used from 1974 to 1995. When you look at the new logo its pretty much the same as the original Washington Capitals tickets logo i.e. it has a hockey stick which twists to form the letter ‘t’. It does however include a new feature which the old logo didn’t i.e. it has three stars with represent Virginia, Maryland and DC, these stars are probably a reference to the stars on the flag of DC, which is of course based on George Washington’s family coat of arms.
There are a couple of big games coming up for the Washington Capitals tickets which includes a match with the Philadelphia Flyers on the 6th of October. This is a match you probably don’t want to miss especially after what happened the last time both these teams met.
Later in the season on the 22nd of October they will go to face the Atlanta Thrashers who are a tough team. Being the underdogs the Washington Capitals tickets need to pull out a win from under their sleeves.
