The Florida Gators is the athletic teams of the University of Florida and are located in Gainesville, Florida. The athletic department of the University of Florida is overseen by the (UAA) that is a non-profit organization and is headed by the current Athletics Director Jeremy Foley. The UAA was established in the year 1929.

The Florida Gators Football Team competes in the Southeastern Conference. The Gators lay claim to seven SEC championships and have been national champions in 1996 and 2006 college football seasons. They also accomplished an unbeaten run in the 1995 regular season.

Urban Meyer, born on July 10th, 1964 in Ashtabula, Ohio is the current head coach for the Florida Gators football team. He came in the spotlight, especially after taking the Gators to the 2006 Southeastern Conference Championship (SEC) and also the BCS National Championship (Bowl Championship Series).

The Ben Hill Griffin Stadium is the home to the Florida Gators football team and is located in Gainesville, Florida. It has a seating capacity of 88,548 fans but has recorded the largest attendance at 90,716 fans. On the basis of seating capacity, it is considered to be the 10th largest college football stadium. The Stadium was built in the year 1930 and later dedicated in 1934 to the Florida servicemen who laid their lives fighting for the country in World War I.
