The University of Kentucky (UK) is represented by the Kentucky Wildcats that includes all the athletic teams of the UK. It is also one of the founding members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Kentucky Wildcats football team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and also in the East Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Rich Brooks, born on August 20th, 1941 in Forest, California is the current head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. He was hired as the head coach for the University of Kentucky in the year before the 2003 season. Later in the year 2006, the Wildcats won their first bowl championship after striving for it since the year 1999. The game between the Wildcats and the Clemson University ended with the Wildcats defeating Clemson 28-20 and picking up their first bowl win since 1984.

The Commonwealth Stadium (Kentucky) is the home to the Kentucky Wildcats football team and is located in Lexington, Kentucky. This stadium is located on the campus of the University of Kentucky and has a seating capacity for 67,806 fans. The Commonwealth Stadium was constructed in the year 1973 and is considered to be the youngest football stadium in the Southeastern Conference. The inaugural game at the Commonwealth Stadium was played between the Wildcats and the Virginia Tech Hookies on September 15th, 1973. The game ended with the Wildcats defeating the Hookies 31-26.
