“Grendel” is one of the influential musical bands of Netherlands. The name of this band was taken from the famous Old English epic poem “Beowulf”. “Grendel” was the name of a monster in that epic poem. This musical band grabbed the limelight of media attention by releasing a promo CD in 2000. The famous rocking song “Strangers” was incorporated in this CD in order to amplify its attraction. This album became chartbuster hit not only in the Netherlands but also in International arena as well. They brought a revolution in the industrial genre of music. It is the assiduousness and hard work of the band members that helped “Grendel” to attain the peak of success within a brief span of time.

After signing a contract with “NoiTekk”, Grendel released their next musical venture titled “Inhumane Amusement”. Before releasing this album, Grendel incorporated some changes in the theme to enhance its attraction. After undergoing a complete face-lift, this album hit the music stores in 2000 with a bang. This is the debut album of this band and it made a huge uproar in the music industry. After the huge success of this album, the members of this band became quite familiar faces in the music industry of Netherlands. Some of the singles of this album clutched top position in some single charts and the fame of this album even crossed the boundaries of borders. As a matter of fact, this single surpassed the expectation of band members.

The success of this album stimulated “Grendel” to release its next musical venture “End of Ages EP” in 2002. This album spawned some all time favourite tracks: Noisome, Catastrophe, End of Ages etc. Some of these singles became international hits and this success helped them to grab the attention of the international media. The theme of this album is quite engaging and an ardent music lover will find it difficult to stop listening to their tracks in the middle. Grendel will be ever remembered for its use of unique musical style and brilliant orchestration. This features helped this band to differentiate itself from the rest of the other contemporaneous bands of the same musical genre.

Grendel reached the next stage of their music career with the release of the album “Prescription: Medicide” in 2003. This album bore some outstanding features that helped it to gain huge popularity among the audiences. Grendel commingled complex theme with sudden twists in their songs. Offbeat orchestration and brilliant vocalization are some of other the unique features of this album. Several copies of this album were sold within few days. Apart from releasing some full fledge music albums, this band also recorded some club hits. In the year 2005, Grendel released a much-awaited EP “Soilbleed”. Some of the club hits of this EP were: Don't Tame Your Soul, One. Eight.Zero etc.

Some of these hits were incorporated in the compilation work “Rape This Industrial World Vol.1” which was released in 2008. Though this band had witnessed many break-ups and reunions in due course of time, it can still captivate the senses of the audiences. It was the outstanding performance by the members of this band, which helped it retain a conspicuous position in the Dutch music industry.
