The Royal Family Tickets
The Royal Family is the story of a theater family (based on the Barrymore clan) and each family member’s place in theater and entertainment. The story juxtaposes a true calling to the theater with domestic doldrums and selling out. At the center of it all is the family is matriarch Fanny Cavendish. She is the celebrated, aged actress that still manages to maintain a viable stage presence.
Her daughter Julie and her granddaughter Gwen must choose between lavish, sometimes insane life on stage and domestication by their love interests (industrialist Gilmore Marshall and socialites’ son Perry Stewart). Her son has drifted away from the stage, seduced by the money, fame, and women of the silver screen. Her brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Kitty Dean, are theater hacks that try to remain relevant with lavish exaggerations of their careers amidst dwindling opportunities.
The Royal Family is a comedic presentation of the theater family written by George Marshall and Edna Ferber in 1927. The lines are delivered with wit on the side of artistic life, flat obtuseness for the side of domestic life, and ridiculous hyperbole for those willing to sell out or serving as imposters as actors and actresses.
The Royal Family tickets are available through The Seats for the latest Broadway revival of the play at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Look at the seating chart and compare the seats to the ticket inventory for your chance to see the Doug Hughes directed production starring John Glover and Rosemary Harris.
