Berbati's Pan & Restaurant was originally a boarding house, but it was converted into a club when he inherited it in 1950 by Ethan Vanderhoff. The owner used the club he hung out the most at during his college years at at the University of Tennessee as the inspiration for the design of the bar he runs now. Berbati's Pan & Restaurant eventually became the most respected bar in town for concerts as well as to stop in for a drink.
