The Thomas and Mack Center is situated on the campus of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. The facility was inaugurated in 1983 and is home to the UNLV men's basketball team. It was also home to the Arena Football League's Las Vegas Sting and Las Vegas Gladiators. The center hosts a number of other events such as concerts, conventions, major industrial shows and family productions.
The Thomas and Mack Center hosts the National Finals Rodeo annually. The center hosted the Arena Football League's Arena Bowl in 2005 and 2006. It also hosted the 2007 NBA All-Star Game, the 1994-95 Big West Conference, 1997-99 Western Athletic Conference and 2000-03 Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournaments. The facility has also been a host to the musical performances of artists such as Elton John, Billy Joel, U2, Van Halen, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith and Phishto.
The Thomas and Mack Center is a famous facility in Las Vegas and has been providing the local people with all kinds of entertainment. The venue will host a number of events in the year 2008 such as the Monster Energy Supercross, XFA 2, Boston and Styx in concert, the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, the American Idol and the NBA Summer League.
