The United Center is an indoor sports arena that is located in Illinois, Chicago. Rocky Wirtz and Jerry Reinsdorf own and operate the venue that was inaugurated on August 18, 1994. It is home to the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and the Chicago Bulls of the NBA. The United Center has a statue of Michael Jordan located on the east side of the arena. It hosts events such as basketball games and concerts.
The United Center has been a host to the University of Illinois basketball games, the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament, the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament, the Roundball Classic and the Great Eight Classic. Besides, it has been a witness to some amazing performances by Pearl Jam, the Dave Matthews Band, Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Britney Spears, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, the Spice Girls and Celine Dion. The venue in Illinois has also hosted the Cirque du Soleil, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice and the television series, Hannah Montana.
The United Center is a famous venue in Illinois and has a seating capacity of around 21,711 people. The year 2008 includes performances by Kayne West, R.E.M., Rush, Celine Dion, George Michael and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
